At Yalla Raise, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a positive experience on our platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information.
Data We Collect
We collect personal information you provide when registering (name, email address, country of birth and residence, organization name), when verifying your identity (government-issued IDs, passport scans, selfies, and organizational documents), and when using the platform (donation history, payment method details, fundraising pot content, and uploaded proof documents).
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used to: create and manage your account; verify your identity under our KYC/KYB process; process donations; send transactional emails (OTP codes, donation receipts, account notifications); and improve our platform through aggregated analytics.
Identity Verification Documents
As part of our KYC (Know Your Customer) and KYB (Know Your Business) requirements, we collect and securely store sensitive identity documents. These documents are used solely for verification purposes, reviewed only by authorized Yalla Raise administrators, and are never shared with third parties except where required by law.
Payment Information
Payment method details (card brand, last 4 digits, expiry date, and cardholder name) are stored to facilitate donations. Full card numbers are never stored on our servers. Payment processing is handled through our payment provider, and their privacy policy also applies to those transactions.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including password hashing (bcrypt), JWT-based authentication, HTTPS encryption in transit, and restricted access controls. Despite these measures, no system is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party services to operate our platform, including SendGrid for transactional email delivery. These providers are given access only to the data necessary to perform their services and are bound by confidentiality obligations. We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Donation records and verification documents are retained to comply with legal and financial obligations. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us, subject to applicable legal retention requirements.
Your Rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request corrections to inaccurate data, request deletion of your data (where legally permissible), and withdraw consent for non-essential communications such as newsletter emails. Cookies
Yalla Raise uses session-based authentication tokens stored in your browser's local storage to keep you logged in. We do not currently use advertising or tracking cookies. Aggregate, anonymized analytics may be used to understand platform usage and improve our services.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Yalla Raise after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Lebanon. By using Yalla Raise, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this policy. Our platform operates from Beirut, Lebanon.
